The Beginning

Greetings!

Although it's a bit late in the growing season I decided to start this gardening blog anyway. Why start now? Well this spring was my first attempt at vegetable gardening. My original plan was to purchase "a few" plants and containers just to see if it interested me. I was hooked immediately. Soon more plants and seeds were purchased and space in the backyard was cleared for transplants and I'm constantly thinking of ways to make more room.

As of now my little kitchen garden is doing quite well and I'm excited to see what else I can do to improve it. Books have been purchased and devoured. I scoured the internet to find other blogs and websites with gardening insights and stories. Sadly not much can be found on gardening in my area. So in documenting my victories and defeats in the garden I hope to draw in some other local gardeners with words of wisdom and experiences of their own. Also, I'll try to track down any Southeastern Michigan local gardener events and post the dates. If anyone else has any information on such things it would be greatly appreciated.
